Worked on the SuperGoodSoft/solidus repository over a two-month period, focusing on targeted improvements to developer experience and backend reliability. Delivered a feature enabling the development server to respect the PORT environment variable, enhancing configuration management and ensuring consistency between local and CI/CD environments. This change, implemented using Shell and erb, removed hard-coded assumptions and streamlined onboarding for new developers. Additionally, addressed a backend bug by correcting an HTML template identifier in the admin stock location form, improving the reliability of Deface overrides and customizations. Demonstrated a careful, low-risk approach with minimal, well-scoped changes using Ruby on Rails and DevOps practices.
