During November 2024, Fosten developed an automated frontend add-on name generation feature for the plone/cookieplone-templates repository. Using Python and Jinja2 templating, Fosten engineered a solution that derives the frontend_addon_name directly from the project title, streamlining the cookiecutter template creation process. This automation reduced manual input errors and standardized naming conventions across new frontend add-ons, supporting more consistent and maintainable project scaffolding. The work was delivered as a single, focused feature without introducing regressions or requiring bug fixes. Fosten’s contribution addressed a specific workflow pain point, demonstrating depth in template automation and attention to maintainability within the Plone ecosystem.
