During July 2025, work focused on enabling Ethernet NIC support for Altera Agilex5 platforms within the geerlingguy/linux repository. This involved developing a new device tree binding for the Synopsys DWC XGMAC IP, specifically by introducing an Agilex5-compatible string in YAML-based device tree bindings. The approach aligned kernel bindings with vendor specifications, reducing integration risk and supporting early NIC bring-up on Agilex5 SoCs. The work leveraged skills in embedded systems, kernel development, and device tree configuration. No bug fixes were recorded during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature development to improve platform readiness for network interface deployment.
