
During three months on the edgeless-project/edgeless repository, Fran Vipa engineered core infrastructure features to enhance deployment, scalability, and maintainability. Fran upgraded CI/CD artifact uploads to address deprecation in GitHub Actions, ensuring reliable build pipelines. They containerized the Edgeless platform by introducing Dockerfiles and automated workflows for building and publishing images, accompanied by deployment documentation. In a later phase, Fran developed a cloud offloading component in Rust that dynamically provisions and manages AWS EC2 nodes based on cluster load, integrating configuration management and automated onboarding. This work demonstrated depth in DevOps, cloud orchestration, and system design, enabling robust, scalable edge deployments.
