Worked on the truemark/autoalarm repository to enhance cloud monitoring by introducing a default-enabled OpenSearch metric configuration for ClusterIndexWritesBlocked, which alerts when index writes are blocked and improves real-time cluster health visibility. Addressed a formatting issue in the alarm configuration by correcting a missing comma, ensuring proper syntax and preventing alert misfires. These changes focused on configuration reliability and proactive detection of critical issues, reducing incident response time. Utilized TypeScript, AWS, and OpenSearch to deliver targeted improvements in backend monitoring. The work demonstrated attention to detail in configuration hygiene and contributed to more robust and reliable alerting for the system.
