Over a two-month period, contributed to the apache/hadoop repository by enhancing core functionality and addressing critical maintenance needs. Developed a new option for the FileSystemShell appendToFile command, enabling users to specify the NEW_BLOCK flag for more granular control over block allocation. Addressed documentation issues by correcting command syntax and updating navigation links, improving usability for end users. Focused on security and dependency management by upgrading Jetty and HTTP/2 libraries to remediate a known vulnerability, thereby strengthening the project’s security posture. Work demonstrated proficiency in Java, Maven, and documentation using Markdown and XML, with attention to both features and stability.
