Worked on the zulip/zulip repository to deliver a feature enhancing webhook follow-up automation by modifying the check_send_webhook_message function to return a message ID. This change enabled automated follow-up actions, such as auto-resolving topics, and reduced the need for manual intervention by webhook users. The technical approach involved updating the function signature and adding comprehensive tests to ensure reliability and improve test coverage. Using Python for backend and API development, the work partially addressed an open issue by supporting message-id-based follow-ups.
