Worked on the envoyproxy/gateway repository to address configuration consistency for rate-limiting headers, focusing on backend development and API design using Go and YAML. Delivered a targeted bug fix by updating the XRateLimitHeadersOptionDisabled constant to align with the CRD enum, which resolved header emission issues and improved reliability. The approach included updating YAML configurations and documentation to ensure operators and users understood the new behavior, as well as adding detailed release notes. This work reinforced contract alignment between code, CRDs, and documentation, reducing the risk of misconfiguration and supporting smoother upgrades for Kubernetes-based deployments. No new features were introduced.
