During December 2024, Gi Quieu developed a feature for the BiteSpeed-Dev/chatwoot repository that enables locking conversations to a single thread for API channels. This work involved both backend and frontend development using Ruby on Rails and Vue.js, ensuring that API inboxes are now treated as valid targets for single-thread locking. Gi refined the user interface to enforce last-conversation semantics when this setting is enabled and implemented comprehensive tests to verify correct behavior across SMS and API inboxes. The feature improves searchability, threading consistency, and automation reliability for API inbox workflows, demonstrating thoughtful integration and attention to workflow robustness.
