During January 2026, Glasz contributed to the rbenv/ruby-build repository by updating the OpenSSL dependency to support Ruby 4.0 and newer versions. This work focused on reinforcing build reliability and security, ensuring that downstream users could upgrade Ruby versions without encountering compatibility or security issues. Glasz addressed the OpenSSL version range logic, removing blockers that previously prevented Ruby 4.x upgrades and aligning the project with current OpenSSL standards. The update, implemented using Shell scripting and leveraging skills in DevOps and package management, improved maintainability and positioned the repository for future Ruby 4.x compatibility enhancements. No bugs were reported or fixed.
