Worked on the harness/harness-schema repository to enhance pipeline event handling by introducing explicit user action requirements. Developed a new UserActionRequired type within the pipeline event schema, enabling pipelines to pause and await user input, which improves governance and automation readiness. Standardized enum naming to WaitingForUserAction across the codebase, reducing ambiguity in event state interpretation and supporting clearer downstream tooling integration. Utilized JSON and YAML for schema design and API development, focusing on event-driven architecture. Delivered these improvements through two targeted commits, resulting in greater consistency and reliability for UI and workflow automation without introducing any bug fixes during the period.
January 2026 monthly summary for harness-schema: Implemented user action handling in pipeline events and aligned enum naming to WaitingForUserAction, enabling pipelines to explicitly wait for user action and improving governance and automation readiness. Key improvements include adding UserActionRequired type to the pipeline event schema and standardizing enum usage across the codebase, supported by two commits that introduce the feature and enum rename. This work enhances reliability, reduces misinterpretation of event states, and provides a clearer pathway for downstream tooling and UIs.
