Worked on the SpikeInterface/spikeinterface repository, delivering two core backend features over two months with a focus on Python-based data processing. Developed a default binary file processing path for Kilosort4, streamlining large-scale spike sorting by reducing runtime overhead and improving compatibility with binary data workflows. Updated documentation to support developer onboarding and user adoption. Additionally, implemented load_extension support in MockWaveformExtractor, aligning mock behavior with real WaveformExtractor extension loading to enhance test fidelity and reduce integration risk. The work emphasized backend development and robust data handling, with no major bug fixes, reflecting a focus on foundational improvements and workflow alignment.
