In February 2025, Gurmeet Kaur enabled XR functionality in the denoland/chromium_build repository by integrating the JXR library into the Chrome codebase. Using Python and leveraging expertise in build systems and dependency management, Gurmeet updated tracereferences.py to exclude Android XR system libraries from reference checks, which stabilized XR-related builds and improved reliability. This work laid the technical foundation for future XR features and aligned with the broader XR roadmap. The depth of the contribution is reflected in the careful integration and build process improvements, addressing both immediate functionality and long-term maintainability for XR support within the Chrome project.
