Contributed to the OpenFUSIONToolkit/JPEC repository by developing and enhancing plasma equilibrium analysis tools over a two-month period. Focused on integrating Fourfit with EFIT-based equilibrium processing, the work enabled robust generation and validation of magnetic field data and spline representations from EFIT g-files. Leveraging Julia, Fortran, and Python, implemented advanced spline routines, improved Fourier analysis, and optimized DCON workflows for MHD stability assessment. Addressed legacy code removal, dependency management, and notebook-driven validation to ensure reproducibility and reliability. The engineering approach emphasized modularity, accurate numerical methods, and transparent matrix validation, resulting in a more stable and maintainable scientific computing framework.
August 2025 (OpenFUSIONToolkit/JPEC) delivered a streamlined DCON workflow with FourFit integration and strengthened validation to accelerate stability analysis and improve result reliability. Key work consolidated notebook-driven DCON analyses into a cohesive workflow, refined module usage, and improved equilibrium setup and metric calculations through ImatsReader for more robust MHD stability assessment.
