Worked on the clangenb/polkadot-sdk repository to deliver a core feature that streamlines relay chain connection options for parachain nodes. The approach involved removing the experimental --relay-chain-light-client flag and its dependencies, including smoldot and smoldot-light, which reduced the configuration surface area and maintenance overhead. Using Rust and Substrate, the work focused on simplifying deployment scenarios and stabilizing developer workflows without introducing new bugs. This change improved the reliability of relay-chain connectivity and made onboarding faster for developers configuring parachain nodes, aligning with the long-term strategy to minimize experimental features while maintaining robust connectivity and ease of use.
