During January 2025, Ekin Demirli focused on maintaining and improving the GaetanLepage/nixpkgs repository by upgrading the Surfer package from version 0.2.0 to 0.3.0. This work involved updating the source hash and synchronizing downstream dependency hashes, such as those for egui_skia and tracing-tree, to ensure build reproducibility and compatibility across environments. Ekin applied expertise in build systems and package management, leveraging the Nix language to align packaging metadata with the GitLab workflow.
