Worked on enhancing CLI usability and forward-compatibility for the apache/ozone repository by implementing deprecation and long-form support for command-line options. Developed a new Java class to centrally manage deprecated multi-character short CLI options, ensuring consistent handling and clear deprecation warnings for users. Updated existing CLI commands to support long-form options while preserving backward compatibility, allowing smoother user migrations and improved guidance. The work focused on CLI development and unit testing, with changes committed under HDDS-7957 to provide traceability. This feature improved the overall user experience by making option deprecation more visible and maintaining compatibility with legacy command-line behaviors.
