During September 2025, Hargar upgraded the Linux kernel to version 6.12.47 for the microsoft/openvmm repository, focusing on both main and development kernels. This work involved applying upstream stable patches to enhance system security, stability, and compatibility, ensuring alignment with supported kernel versions and reducing vulnerability exposure. Hargar maintained thorough traceability of changes through detailed commit history and pull requests. The project leveraged Rust for kernel development and system administration tasks, reflecting a strong understanding of low-level systems engineering. While the scope was limited to a single feature, the work demonstrated depth in kernel maintenance and secure system operations.
