Worked on the lima-vm/lima repository to deliver a user-facing feature enabling custom image naming through the CLI using the --name flag. Addressed a critical issue where image names could be unintentionally overwritten by the image URL, ensuring that the specified name is consistently honored during image creation. The implementation included targeted tests to validate the new behavior and prevent future regressions, contributing to improved CI stability. Leveraged Go for backend development, focusing on enhancing automation readiness and reducing support overhead. The work resulted in more predictable image creation workflows and a better command-line experience for users managing VM images.
