Worked on the LabNConsulting/frr repository to improve the reliability of FRR startup processes on Debian-based systems. Addressed a critical race condition by modifying the Debian packaging tooling to ensure the management daemon (mgmtd) consistently starts before Zebra, preventing initialization errors and reducing service disruptions. Applied configuration management and system administration expertise, utilizing Shell scripting to implement and document the fix through a targeted commit. This work enhanced the orchestration of Linux daemons within the packaging workflow, resulting in smoother production rollouts and fewer incidents related to startup sequencing, while demonstrating a precise and maintainable approach to system reliability.
