In January 2026, Hewliyang developed an active path highlighting feature for the badlogic/pi-mono repository’s HTML export sidebar, focusing on enhancing UI/UX and navigation efficiency. Using JavaScript, CSS, and Markdown, Hewliyang engineered a system where clicking a message navigates to the relevant branch leaf and auto-scrolls to the selected message. The implementation dims off-path nodes and applies an accent tint to active path nodes, clarifying navigation for users reviewing exported content. This front-end enhancement reduced the time required to locate messages and improved review workflows. The work demonstrated thoughtful DOM manipulation and CSS-driven state management within a complex export interface.
