During July 2025, contributed to the avocado-framework/avocado-vt repository by implementing NetKVM NIC Index Parameter Support, enhancing the flexibility of network parameter management in virtualized environments. This work introduced a nic_index argument to the set_netkvm_param_value and get_netkvm_param_value functions in Python, allowing users to specify which network interface card to target, with a default to NIC 0. Leveraging skills in network configuration, system testing, and virtualization, the update improved test configurability and accuracy for the netkvm driver. The change reduced configuration errors and enabled more granular NIC-level testing, laying the foundation for more precise network parameter operations.
