During July 2025, Freude contributed to the geerlingguy/linux repository by addressing a critical issue affecting the visibility of the Stateless Command Filtering (SLCF) feature on CEX8 cards. Working in C and leveraging expertise in device drivers and kernel development, Freude unmasked the SLCF bit within the AP card and queue sysfs interfaces. This technical change allowed user-space applications and automation tools to reliably detect and list the SLCF feature, resolving previous discovery suppression problems. The work improved system observability and monitoring, demonstrating a focused approach to low-level system programming and a deep understanding of Linux kernel internals and hardware integration.
