Worked on the truenas/apps repository to enhance deployment security by updating the default password in the ix_values.yaml configuration file. Focused on security hardening, the approach involved applying configuration management best practices and incrementing the application version to ensure traceability of changes. Leveraged YAML for precise configuration updates and used Git for auditable, collaborative change management, including co-authored commits linked to tracked issues. The work addressed credential exposure risks by aligning default settings with security best practices, resulting in a single, targeted feature that improved both the security posture and release readiness of the application without introducing user-facing changes.
