Over five months, H. Wilson engineered and stabilized core features for the TryQuiet/quiet repository, focusing on mobile and desktop development, release automation, and build system reliability. Wilson delivered UI enhancements, OrbitDB integration via Quiet Storage Service, and robust release workflows, addressing both user experience and developer efficiency. Using technologies such as Gradle, Bash, and TypeScript, Wilson automated packaging, streamlined changelog management, and improved CI/CD pipelines. The work included resolving build compatibility issues for Android and iOS, strengthening security, and maintaining detailed documentation. Wilson’s contributions resulted in a more stable, secure, and maintainable codebase with predictable, high-quality release cycles.
During July 2025, TryQuiet/quiet delivered several high-impact features, stabilized the platform, and strengthened security and release processes. OrbitDB Injection via Quiet Storage Service (QSS) was added, enabling controlled injection of entries into OrbitDB through a QSS hook, with release notes created to document the capability. UI/UX enhancements were completed: user profiles, a real-time connection status in the sidebar, a development-time debug panel, and strengthened security around socketIOSecret sharing, plus related fixes. Release management and versioning were improved for desktop/mobile with 6.0.0 release readiness and 6.1.0-alpha.x previews, including changelog cleanup, version bumps, and build config updates. Android build tooling was reverted to restore a stable build, addressing instability from upgrades to AGP 8.3.2, Gradle 8.8, Android SDK 35. Overall, these deliverables improved product stability, security posture, and release velocity, while expanding platform capabilities and developer ergonomics.
