The approach maintained backward compatibility by defaulting to 'ZITADEL' when no custom name is set, ensuring seamless upgrades. The work focused on backend development and configuration management, aligning observability nomenclature with deployment configurations to facilitate multi-tenant scenarios and improve environment isolation without disrupting existing monitoring setups.
