Worked on enhancing the u-root/u-root repository by updating the mkuimage workflow to include the /var/lock directory in the default ramfs image. This change addressed lock-file management needs, ensuring that embedded deployments have reliable lock semantics and improved runtime stability. The approach involved direct modification of the image tooling to guarantee /var/lock availability at boot, supporting smoother and more robust deployments. The work demonstrated skills in build systems and dependency management, with Go as the primary language. No major bugs were addressed during this period, with the focus remaining on strengthening the image baseline for embedded Linux environments.
