Worked on the meshtastic/firmware repository to enhance the reliability of SimRadio transmissions within embedded systems. Focused on stabilizing the core firmware path by addressing a bug that caused loss of critical metadata, such as want_response and request_id, during the decoded packet flow. Utilized C++ and Protocol Buffers to ensure that metadata fields were preserved until encrypted processing, thereby improving the integrity of end-to-end messaging. The approach involved refining data flow handling and clarifying code comments for better maintainability. This work reduced failure modes in response handling and contributed to more robust and predictable communication within the firmware.
