Worked on the TanStack/router repository to improve configuration hygiene for Firebase authentication in a React front end environment. Focused on standardizing environment variable naming by introducing the PUBLIC prefix, ensuring consistency between env.example files and actual configuration for authenticated routes. This update, implemented using TypeScript and Firebase, reduced the risk of misconfiguration and streamlined the deployment process for developers integrating Firebase authentication. By aligning example configurations with current standards, the work enhanced clarity and onboarding for new contributors. Demonstrated careful attention to project conventions and commit hygiene, addressing a key bug and contributing to more reliable authentication setup across environments.
