Worked on the MoviePilot repository to improve the reliability of subtitle processing workflows. Addressed a runtime error by implementing a fix that ensures the subtitle download directory is properly initialized before saving files, preventing failures when the directory does not exist. Focused on backend development using Python, with particular attention to robust file handling practices. The solution involved minimal changes outside the subtitle module, targeting the root cause of the issue without introducing unnecessary complexity. This work enhanced the stability of subtitle downloads across different scenarios, reflecting a careful and pragmatic approach to maintaining and improving backend systems in a production environment.
