Worked on the nextflow-io/nextflow repository over a two-month period, delivering targeted enhancements and documentation improvements. Developed a feature in Groovy to expand the NameGenerator run-name pool by adding 'hirsch', increasing run-name diversity and supporting better traceability for multi-run pipelines. Focused on maintaining CI stability and compatibility while integrating this change, ensuring existing workflows remained unaffected. In a separate effort, streamlined project documentation using Markdown by removing outdated guidance on process-shell usage, clarifying Bash and Nextflow variable handling for users. Prioritized clear commit messages and alignment with project standards, contributing to improved onboarding and reduced user confusion.
