Worked on the mongodb-labs/drivers-evergreen-tools repository to deliver support for MongoDB 8.x binaries on Amazon Linux 2 by enhancing the version discovery process. The solution involved updating the download list strategy to source version information from cloud.json, rather than full.json, enabling a more comprehensive and reliable deployment experience for users adopting 8.x on AL2. This approach reduced manual configuration and improved compatibility for cloud-based environments. The work was implemented using Python, leveraging DevOps and scripting skills to automate version management and streamline deployment workflows, resulting in a more robust and maintainable process for distributing MongoDB binaries.
