Worked on the SAP/wdio-qmate-service repository to deliver a unified generic select function for UI5 dropdowns, standardizing the selection process across multiple UI5 controls. The approach involved deprecating legacy select methods in favor of a single, maintainable API surface, which reduces maintenance overhead and enforces consistency. Enhanced the feature with comprehensive logging and robust error handling to improve debugging and user feedback during dropdown interactions. Updated tests and documentation to align with the new API, and consolidated private helper methods for better maintainability. Utilized TypeScript, JavaScript, and front end development skills throughout the implementation and integration process.
