During January 2025, Yuriy Ivaskevych contributed to the SigNoz/charts repository by developing a configurable Kubernetes Attributes Processor that enables extraction of labels and annotations from pod metadata. Leveraging skills in Helm, Kubernetes, and YAML, Yuriy updated Helm templates and default values to introduce new configuration options, allowing users to extract and utilize custom labels and annotations for enriched telemetry data. This enhancement provides deeper context for monitoring and alerting by surfacing Kubernetes resource information within observability pipelines. The work was delivered as a focused feature, demonstrating a solid understanding of configuration management and Helm chart customization within Kubernetes environments.
