During July 2025, work centered on integrating the Ext Data Control Protocol v1 into the felixonmars/treeland repository. This involved developing a dedicated Ext Data Control Manager and connecting it to both core systems and example helpers, establishing a centralized architecture for data governance and routing. The approach focused on extensibility, enabling future policy-driven data control features and supporting compliance with evolving data handling requirements. Implementation relied on C++ and C within a system programming context, leveraging Wayland where appropriate. The resulting foundation reduced risk and streamlined future enhancements, providing a robust base for ongoing development of data-control capabilities across modules.
