Jaceys Tan developed and delivered immutable deployment pinning for the honeycombio/helm-charts repository, focusing on the refinery Helm chart. By introducing template helpers in _helpers.tpl, Jaceys enabled image references to be constructed with optional digests, allowing users to specify image digests in values.yaml. This approach updated refinery, Redis, and deployment marker job deployments to use the new helpers, ensuring deployments are reproducible and immutable. The work leveraged Helm templating, YAML configuration, and DevOps practices to improve deployment consistency and support safer rollbacks. Over the month, Jaceys demonstrated depth in Helm Charts and Kubernetes without reported bugs or regressions.
