Worked on the alexta69/metube repository to enhance subscription settings by implementing a feature that normalizes string representations of boolean values during subscription updates. Developed a coercion function in Python to reliably convert inputs such as 'true', 'false', '1', and '0' into actual boolean types, addressing inconsistencies in how user settings were previously handled. Focused on backend development and API integration, the work included comprehensive unit testing to validate correct parsing and robust handling of invalid inputs. This update improved the reliability of the subscription update flow, ensuring that user preferences are accurately interpreted and stored within the system.
