Worked on the openssl/openssl repository to improve the correctness and reliability of X.509 certificate time specification handling. Focused on refining the logic for printing time specifications by updating the i2r_OSSL_DAY_TIME function in C to properly check for the presence of seconds before decoding, addressing an edge case where seconds are optional. Added targeted regression tests to ensure robust coverage for periodic time specifications that omit seconds, including new test certificates and recipe updates. This work, rooted in C programming and cryptography, enhanced stability and regression coverage, resolving a known issue and contributing to the overall reliability of the codebase.
