Worked on the frappe/erpnext repository to deliver a targeted reliability fix addressing pricing rule calculations. Focused on backend development using Python, the work involved updating the pricing_rule/utils.py module to handle None values in free item quantity calculations, thereby preventing errors in transaction quantity computations. This change improved pricing accuracy and enhanced transaction stability by reducing the risk of runtime exceptions in pricing flows. The solution was developed collaboratively through Git-based workflows, including code reviews and test-driven debugging. By safeguarding revenue calculations and ensuring more predictable pricing behavior, the update contributed to better data integrity and a smoother user experience.
