Worked on the Shopify/ui-extensions repository to deliver a feature improving the shipping option user interface in checkout flows. The approach involved deprecating the renderMode field in the shipping option item API and transitioning to inline rendering, which replaced modal-based UI elements. This change simplified the checkout experience for both merchants and extension developers by reducing modal-stack complexity and enhancing accessibility. The work included updating and publishing documentation to reflect the new inline rendering approach. Leveraging TypeScript, React, and Preact, the developer aligned the repository with Shopify’s broader migration toward inline UIs, laying the foundation for future enhancements and improved consistency.
