Worked on the potiuk/airflow repository to enhance container security and maintainability by upgrading the Alpine base image for both pgbouncer and pgbouncer-exporter components to version 3.23. This update, implemented through Dockerfile modifications, addressed a critical bug by aligning the deployment with current dependencies and applying the latest security patches, thereby reducing exposure to known vulnerabilities. The work involved close collaboration with another contributor to ensure seamless integration and compatibility across Airflow’s containerized environment. Leveraging skills in containerization, DevOps, and Docker, the developer focused on consolidating base image usage to streamline future maintenance and improve overall deployment reliability.
