In July 2025, J. Bylsma enhanced deployment observability for the archivesspace/archivesspace repository by developing a configurable log append mode for the ArchivalSpace launcher. Using shell scripting and system administration skills, J. Bylsma introduced an environment variable that allows operators to control whether logs are appended or overwritten, improving log retention and debugging capabilities. The implementation maintained backward compatibility and required minimal operational changes, focusing on code quality and deployment flexibility. No bug fixes were recorded during this period, as the work concentrated on delivering this targeted feature and refining the launcher’s logging behavior to support reproducible deployments across environments.
