Worked on the lichess-org/zulip repository to address an issue with avatar image clarity in the account settings copy flow. Focused on backend development using Python, the solution involved updating the avatar_url logic to load medium-sized avatars specifically during the account settings process. This targeted adjustment reduced blur for avatars from existing accounts, enhancing the visual quality and overall user experience without introducing regressions elsewhere in the application. The change was carefully scoped to the avatar loading path, demonstrating attention to risk mitigation and maintainability.
