During June 2025, Sam Thorne enhanced observability in the SagerNet/gvisor repository by optimizing logging verbosity within SNMP network data collection and the watchdog loop. Using Go and leveraging system programming and logging expertise, Sam refactored non-critical Infof log messages to Debugf, effectively reducing routine log noise while maintaining essential operational visibility. This targeted change improved the signal-to-noise ratio in monitoring workflows, enabling faster diagnosis and more efficient log management. Although the work focused on a single feature and did not address bug fixes, it laid a foundation for smoother maintenance and future improvements in network data collection observability.
