Jiayu Chen contributed to the grafana/helm-charts repository by extending the Grafana Helm chart to support process namespace sharing. By introducing the shareProcessNamespace option, Jiayu enabled an auxiliary container to restart the main Grafana container in response to LDAP configuration changes, improving deployment reliability and streamlining the LDAP config workflow. This feature was implemented using Helm and Kubernetes, with YAML as the primary language for chart configuration. The work focused on enhancing operational flexibility without introducing unnecessary complexity, reflecting a targeted approach to solving a specific deployment challenge. Over the month, Jiayu delivered one feature and did not address bug fixes.
