Worked on the mermaid-js/mermaid repository to enhance self-loop rendering in diagram visualizations, focusing on Dagre-based graphs, flowcharts, and state diagrams. Improved the rendering logic by merging layout segments and unifying SVG paths, resulting in more compact and coherent self-loops. Addressed a bug that previously caused flowchart self-loops to render incorrectly, ensuring they now appear as a single SVG path. Expanded test coverage using Cypress and JavaScript to validate these changes and coordinated continuous integration reruns to maintain build stability. These updates reduced rendering inconsistencies, improved diagram accuracy, and strengthened developer confidence through more reliable and thoroughly tested releases.
