During March 2026, Jingbo Hao developed and delivered the Openspec 1.2.0 Homebrew formula within the chenrui333/homebrew-core repository. This work focused on integrating Openspec, a tool designed for spec-driven development with AI coding assistants, into the Homebrew package manager ecosystem. Jingbo utilized Ruby for formula development and Node.js for managing package dependencies, ensuring a stable and reliable installation process. The new formula streamlines developer onboarding and reduces setup time for users adopting Openspec. While no major bugs were addressed during this period, the engineering effort emphasized packaging stability and feature completeness, contributing to Homebrew’s expanding formula offerings.
