Worked on the geerlingguy/linux repository to update driver maintainer governance, focusing on the Intel In-Field Scan (IFS) driver and the Slim BootLoader (SBL) firmware update driver. The approach centered on maintaining continuity and clarity in driver ownership by appointing a new maintainer for IFS and designating SBL as orphaned following the previous maintainer’s departure. All changes were made through repository metadata and documentation, with no modifications to functional code. Leveraged skills in driver maintenance and kernel development, using C as the primary language, to ensure that mission-critical firmware components remain well-governed and maintainable despite personnel transitions.
