In November 2025, JJ Otteson developed and delivered the String Formatting Workshop for the freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp repository, focusing on enhancing the curriculum for the FSD certification track. Using JavaScript and front end development skills, JJ designed multi-step, practice-driven exercises that guide learners through string manipulation methods such as trim, toUpperCase, and toLowerCase. The workshop was structured to reinforce real-world coding scenarios, supporting curriculum alignment and learner readiness. JJ collaborated with multiple contributors to ensure the feature’s integration met project standards. The work demonstrated depth in curriculum design and technical implementation, though it was limited to a single feature without bug fixes.
