Worked on the trinodb/trino repository, focusing on backend development and reliability improvements over a two-month period. Addressed edge-case handling in spooled page verification by refining logic to correctly process zero-sized or zero-positioned pages, thereby reducing the risk of incorrect data processing in spool and page streaming features. Utilized Java and SQL to implement robust null handling for optional sort_order_id fields in Iceberg tables, preventing null pointer exceptions and aligning query behavior with the Iceberg specification. These targeted bug fixes enhanced code maintainability and improved the stability and compatibility of Trino’s backend data processing and analytics workflows.
